Primary gaming. Lotsa research. Eventual SLI. This website has been a GREAT resource in setting this up. here's the build, comes out to right around 1200:

which brings us to the gigabyte super overclock gtx 470

*for a while I was set on the 460, but decided this extra performance merits the $ in the long run, esp with this cards formidable SLI. This version seems to be the best - but i'm not that great at finding the price/perf balance in the diff versions. if there is a solid version that costs less i would consider it.

Anyway this is the build I've finally settled on, intentions to purchase by end of next week.

*some of the promo codes/rebates on a few components (psu) expired yesterday. if any comparable items have better deals now i'm looking to save $

Please sound off with comments, suggestions, affirmations, or whatever.

MSI seems to have a bad tech support Rep. Someone recently made a comment like "you have a better chance of newegg double shipping you an extra graphics card than getting a good replacement for a broken MSI graphics card." The twin Frozr is a known good GPU cooler, but that gigabyte has a 3 fan cooler which should be great.

I added the parts to my profile. Its not working yet, just got the the first batch yesterday. It will end up in the 900 case with the TP650 PSU and Balder cooler and Ill move the athlonIIx3 sytem into the new 300 illusion case. Probably be next week before I get the HDD (used amazon gift cert so shipping is slow) and can get it working.
