i just need to find a psu not sure if the antec 550W that i found would be good enough? might get 8gb of ram instead of 4 and add another dvd writer.
and add a 40gb ssd for the os and office.

please comment if you guys think that this power supply will be sufficient.

Solution
The 1055T is a fairly slow 6 core (2.8GHz). You will get better gaming performance from a faster quad like the 955 or 965.

The ASRock 870 Extreme3 motherboard has the newer 870 chipset for around the same price.

Adding extra RAM you never use will only increase heat and power and can even slow your system down.

A BP550 should handle a single 5850, but wouldn't be wise with a 5870. It doesnt give you much extra to account for aging so you would be better off getting at least an Antec Neo Eco 620 or Seasonic S12 620W PSU.

not gonna go crossfire depending on how much the psu. honestly dont wanna spend more than $800.(can squeeze an extra 50 so $850.) so if i go with a better psu i think i might be able to sacrafice the 5870 and go with a 5850 i think 15fps lost wont be that bad you think?

If you measure it right, a Neo Eco 620W and a 5850 will outperform a a BP550 and a 5870. All the time lost to freezing and rebootings from not having enough power should count in your FPS ratings, I think.

The neo eco 620 has 48 amps on the 12V rails, the earthwatts 650 only has 45. The neo eco is actually better for newer systems.

okay well as for cpu i honestly think 6 cores is too much for me.

okay i can go with either an i7 cpu 930 for $200
i7 870 for $230
amd phenom II x4 965 $165
or 955 for $150

i prefer ati cards over nvidia. and i thought ati work alot better with amd for performance than an intel i might be wrong probably am. which do you think i should go with and im gonna get that 650 W psu u told me tecmo34.

and never really heard of asrock is it a good comp? i like asus and gigabyte bc it comes with 3 year warranty.

go 955

You cant SLI with a new AMD board. If you only use one GPU then there is no problem. A few years ago there were chipset issues, but not anymore.

ASRock used to be an ASUS subsidiary, now its and independent company. They occasionally put out a good quality, low price board. The 870 Extreme3 seems to be one of those gems.
