Hello, i am building a new computer with amd platform as i am on a tight budget. I will use this system for mostly gaming ,browsing web.No video editing etc.

I have a OLD monitor with max resolution of 1024*768.So i would be gaming at that resolution only.

I live in New Delhi ,India and will buy the products from Nehru Place.

The products i have selected are :
CPU:Amd phenom II x2 555 BE OR Amd Athlon II x4 635
Mobo:Asus M4A785T-M
Ram:2Gb DDr3 (Need Advice)
GPU:Ati radeon 5670 512MB
Power Supply:450 w (Need Advice)
Hard Disk :Western Digital 500 Gb
LG DVD rom
Case :Coolermaster Elite 341 or 310

I am confused about the processor as which will be the best for me as prices are nearly the same.

I need to know which ram to select as i don't knw much about the brands.
Also which power supply will suit me since PSU is an important component. My max budget is Rs. 20,000.

Please help. All comments would be appreciated. Thanks In advance

The Phenom II is better for gaming because of the level 3 cache. A good amount of ram is 4 gigs, 2 gigs may cause lag in games like gta, mafia, etc. I would also recomend a 5750 for around $20-40 more, the 5670 is very low tech card . If you want to save a little money on the motherboard, go with a MSI 870-G45 AM3 AMD 770 for 69.99 its a good board.

SP12: He's in India, newegg sales mean nothing to him!

To the OP:

of what you posted, get the Athlon II x4 rather than the Phenom X2. the 4 cores will matter more than the L3 cache.

Make sure that is a DDR3 model of 785

try to manage 4 GB of RAM

Get a 5750/5770 or GTS 450 video card, and save up for a higher resolution monitor, the better video cards will help there
