For my money, I would go with the Samsung 840 Pro or the Intel 520. Here's a link to the 256GB modelof the Samsung 840 Pro: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147193

Here's a link to the 240GB model of the Intel 520:

Both of these are excellent drives with lots of speed and incredible reliability. I have used several different models of Intel 520 series (based on size needed) for desktop builds and several different models of the Samsung 830 (previous gen) for laptop builds and both have been fantastic. Simple setup, minimal tweaking and no need to continually update firmware to get the results you want.

The 830's are good drives as well, just 1 gen old which ain't a big deal, I don't know the exact conversion rates but I think that's an OK deal, you could wait for a flash deal or something somewhere, I got my 128gb 830 for 70$ U.S. flat (i.e. after tax/shipping).

yes it will

got one of them in my desk top

no problems with it

scores 8.1 in wei

had windows 8 on it for a few weeks

still getting 500mbs read and 395mbs write

so very close to advertised speed

At this particularly online store, the Samsung 256GB 830 Series, you´ve listed, is the best you can get, at max of £150.

I have myself a Samsung 128GB 830 Series -- it is a very good SSD! :)

Another good option is the Crucial 256GB m4 for £144.99 at dabs http://www.dabs.com/products/crucial-256gb-m4-sata-6gb-s-2-5--solid-state-drive-7GL2.html?refs=56350000-52080000-13-4294963789&src=3

You just can´t go wrong with both of them! :)
