I7 920 idling at 50C?!

Why is it doing this? I put the correct amount of thermal compound on it, I have a Freezer Pro Rev. 2 fan/heatsink and it's still just idling in windows with a Realtemp reading on 52 degrees.

Any ideas on how to solve this? Should I retry thermal compound?

Before that, check your cpu temps at FULL LOAD, report here back again...
You can try using Prime95 to stress your CPU.
What is your ambient (room) temp?
What is your case? normal ATX? mini/micro ATX?
What about your fans case configuration?
