Ati 4770 running at PCI-E x8 2.0

why is it running at half the bandwidt...gpu-z says it can run at full X16 my moutherboard has a Pci-e x16 2.0 slot


i have a XFX 4770
asus m4a785-m

reseted the gfx card 5 times
i reseted my pci-e 1 card (dia-up modem)
jump my bios 2 times
clean out the gfx card slot
i reseated the pci-e connector on the card
took out the card let windows run on just the onboard video then put the card back in
redid the graphics card driver
redid the mobo bios

and its still running at PCI-E x4 And my fps did go lower

Reseating the card sometimes helps but honestly that card shouldn't be limited at all by a x8 2.0 slot so don't worry about it too much.

yeah i thought it did'nt matter just dont understand why its running at that speed when it should'nt

Make sure your card is properly attached to it's slot, many people experience the same problem (me too)...
So re-seat the card until gpu-z said that you're running at x16.
