Heden 480w on Studio XPS 8100 w/ Radeon 6870

Hi,

Someone here told me i'd have to upgrade the crappy Lite On 350W PSU in my Dell Studio XPS 8100 to run an Sapphire Radeon 6870.

I got another computer (not used anymore) with a Heden 250W=>480W PSU inside. Is it risky to try it in my new computer ? Or can I try to switch without worrying ?

i thought it would be more powerfull (480). Moreover, the Heden provides 2 cables which can be used to for the 2x 6 pins PCI plugs needed by my GPU.

So you think that's a shitty idea?

Well , I've never heard of a Heden 250W=>480W, nice that it has 2x 6 pin plugs, but no idea what it is.

the PSU exact reference : Heden 480W ATX PSXA830

"the hd6870 requires two 75-watt 6-pin power connection". That's what i was talking about.

Can't find exact specs, there's no mention of pcie power connectors anywhere.
Did find a picture clear enough to see that there's only 10 amps on the 12v rail, a total max ouput of 185 watts, and no pcie connectors.
