What PSU to choose?

Forum CPU & Components : Power Supplies, Cases & Mods What PSU to choose?

Word :    Username :

Hello,

I'm thinking of buying the following components:
EVGA X58 FTW3
Intel I7-950
Corsair XMS3 TR3X6G1600C7 3x2GB
Noctua NH-U9B SE2
Sapphire Radeon 4890Vapor-X 1GB(Already have this one)
Intel X25 80 GB SSD(Already have this one)
WD 1TB HDD

I'm probably not going to buy a new GFX card anytime soon, since I'll just use the 4890 I have in my current computer.

But which PSU should I go with? I was thinking of the Cooler Master GX 750W, but I dont know if 750W is enough.

Thanks in advance,

Grant

750W would be good even for SLI like GTX460.

a 500w PSU is more then enough to run your ATI 4890 setup and just about any single GPU card out there. in fact a crossfire setup won't break 500w in total system power. I would suggest a unit from corsair, seasonic, antec, or enermax.

Enough? A good quality 500w psu will be enough if you don't plan on crossfire or sli.

Where are you going to be buying from, I may be able to recommend a better psu for ya.

What's your budget?

Budget for the PSU; ~80 Euro

@Hell_storm. The links link to the PSU Main page, not a specific PSU.

the antec Earth Watts 500w or High Current 520w would be solid choices.

OCZ modstream 500w would be a budget option

the seasonics are over priced on that web site
