Speed improvement with usb 3.0

Hello,
I just upgraded my Seagate free agent go flex ext. hdd from usb 2.0 to usb 3.0...but i cant see any change in speed of copying....
My internel hard drive is connected to sata 2 port....and it's WD C green....5400 rpm...please help...

Just because the bandwidth between the HDD and computer has increased doesn't mean that it will copy faster.
