Inquiry about GPU connectors from PSU

I'm new to the custom built computer thing. I see that this PSU (Corsair TX 750) has 4 x 8 pin connectors for graphics cards. This actually looks like a 6 + 2 pin connector. Is it possible to just use 6 of the pins, and not all 8? I'm using a gtx 460, and it needs 2 x 6 pin connector.

yes, that is why they are like that to be adaptable as an 8 pin or 6 pin
