HD 5850 and hp pavilion a6414f

Solution
Hi, If the motherboard supports PCIE x16 then yeah it would fit the board, but if your running on stock parts you'll need to get a bigger power supply. I don't think that card would fit in the HP case it may be a bit cramped being 9.5' especially with the PSU wires, causing heat restricted airflow. If you have the option to go another route, you would still need a new power supply but both the HD 5770 or 5750 would be good choices lower power consumption and heat but good performance. 5770 if you could spare the extra say 30$? over the 5750, worth it IMO, and a mid ranged 550W-650W power supply would do you pretty good.

As long as it has pcie slot then you can use all (mostly) pcie cards.

It doesn't mention about PSU, but most of HP PC's came with 300W PSU, so you'll need a bigger PSU if you want to run HD5850.

Still using the onboard graphic? If yes, then a cheap GT240 or HD5670 is still a decent upgrade without changing your current PSU. :)
