Ram memory detection

Hello,
I was just wondering if someone knows a fix for this issue. Running windows 7 ultimate 64bit on asus rampage 3 extreme motherboard with 6x 4gig ddr3 2000mhz corsair ram. Sometimes and I dont know why, it seems ramdom, widows will only detect 16gigs of ram when it should be 24, sometimes it detects it all and sometimes only 16. Does anyone know a fix or has anyone seen this before? Usually a simple reset will make it detect all the ram.

Go to Run>Msconfig>Boot>Advanced options and make sure "Maximum memory" is unchecked

also update your bios if update available
