Can a pcie x1 slot card work in a gen2 x16 slot

I have 2 avermedia capture cards that work in my older motherboard which has pcie X1 slots. My new mother board has gen2 X16 slots. One card works but when the second card is installed, I have video syncing issues

If the question is can you plug a x1 card into a x16 slot, the answer is yes. PCI-E is backwards compatible with lower rated devices.

However, it sounds like you have a configuration issue if you have the 2 AverMedia capture cards installed into the new motherboard and now you are having the video synchronization issues.

Are you using the older or newer mobo now?
