Broadband and phone not working

Hello,
we have just connected to broadband,however when the router is pluged into the front on the master socket it doesnt pick up on the connection , but when plugged directly into the test socket it works fine any idea why this is.

You can go to DSL reports.com forums and it will pretty much walk you through installing any routers with any modems.

The router and the modem work perfectly well, but only when it is plugged into the test part of the BT master socket. However, when the bt master socket is put back together and is plugged back into the front face plate it refuses to pick up the connectionto the router.

You must power off the Broadband modem hook up the Router then power on the broadband modem and router.

Not quite sure what you mean by power cycle the broadband modem?
