Hello,

i have an RS482 Infinity motherboard with and ATI Express 200 (RS480) chipset and an AMD athlon 64 3700+ processor. i wanted to know if i can upgrade my processor to a dual or quad core?

The Athlon 64 3700+ is most likely a Socket 939 processor and Socket 939 only supports up to dual-core CPUs. You may be able to upgrade to a dual-core CPU, but you would need to check the board vendor's website to see if dual-core CPUs are supported. I would suggest that you would probably be better off in just getting a whole new motherboard + RAM + CPU setup since Socket 939 dual-cores are pretty pricey on the used market and considerably slower than similarly-priced new CPUs.
