Strange boot up problem after unlocking Phenom II x2

After i unlocked my phenom II x2 to an x4 I have to hit the reset button after powering on in order to POST. Everything works perfectly after the computer boots. I can run furmark and prime 95 at the same time so i dont think its a PSU issue.

Here are my specs

MSI 760gm-e51
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor (unlocked to x4)
G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB (2 x 2GB)
500 GB Spinpoint F1
XFX Radeon HD 5850
MSI 760GM-E51
650W ULTRA Lifetime Series

I've been doing the same thing for months with my unlocked 555.

Its stable at 3.6 quad so I suppose thats worth a little button press.

If the rig don't turn on without problems, the unlocked cores aren't good.

Not necessarily, mine is stable @3.6, folds and passes any thing you throw at it.

I have been doing the reset thing from day 1 of the unlock but never had any other problems.

Try upping the cpu voltage a little, could just be stalling on a cold startup.

I tried it at 1.5 when I OC'd it a while back and still the same problem

Voltage increases
Changing memory
Re installed OS
Underclocked CPU
Different card
Different PSU
Locking back up and unlocking

You get the picture, I just live with it but it is annoying, but a quad for £70 makes me less annoyed.

The wierd thing is the reboot works every time and once loaded, no problems.

What part are you trying to sell exactly?

Put the decision in the buyers hands, dual core without reset or quad with, I choose quad.

Do you get the same problem with X3 CPU?

Not all boards allow triple, mine does and yes its the same.

I can go cores 1,2,3 or 1,2,4 but on the Crossfire III you can also go 1,3,4 so depends on board.

I know that, I refer to OP, he can try with X3 if the rig is stable and don't have problem the problem is the 4th core.
