External 1TB hard drive not being recognized...

My toshiba 1 TB external HDD not being recognised on Mac air Book running Lion OS X 1.8. It is working ok on HP notebook Pavalion DM 1.

Please advise.

is the drive formatted as fat32? osx cannot read ntfs natively.
