Think I fried my motherboard........

Dear Tom's Hardware,

I am sorry that my stupidity has led me to ask you a silly question, which is probably asked a countless number of times on this forum. Here's the question; I put my motherboard on a carpet...for a decent amount of time. My computer turns on, then turns off, then turns on again and doesn't POST.

I know I'm retarded, but please help me, thank you

I would double check all connections going to the motherboard. Did you plug in the cpu power?
