Gaming and quad core processors

A few years ago, people argued that video games wouldn't use more than Two cores/threads for at least a decade! Now there are a slew of games like GTA4, Far Cry 2, Flight Simulator 10, etc.. which are optimized for Four cores/threads.

Could you write up a list of all of the PC games which use Four CPU threads?

When games use more than Four threads, will the Core i7's hyper-threading help fill this gap?

Core i7's are already powerful enough to play most games that will be developed in the next few years. It will be a while before games are optimized to use more than 4 cores, but that day will come. The hyperthreading on the i7's should help fill the gap, even though they will never be as powerful as additional cores (1 core w/HT < 2 core). I decided to get the i7 860. It should help it last longer as an acceptable processor for most games.

I haven't seen such a complete list yet but of flight simulators Rise of Flight will use a quad core and the upcoming Battle of Britain :Storms of War (very close to release) I am sure is optimized for many cores tof course so will Microsoft's upcoming Microsoft Flight.
Hyperthreading definitely helps FSX with better frame rates.

Is that why Far Cry 2 runs at many times the framerate at high resolutions compared to Crysis?
