Evga gts 250 is 59.99 after rebate and the gts 240 is 20$ more expensive. Paired with a Amd x3 440 will there be noticeable difference between them?
My concern is the extra power connector for the gts 250, I purchased one and I feel as though my power supply is not enough so I was thinking of just returning it for a gts 240 rather than purchasing a new power supply .
My power supply is 500 watt allied with 20 amps on the 12V

LOL the GTS 250 sh*ts all over the GT 240. Even the 512mb version totally destroys the GT 240. The GT 240 performs on par with the 9800GT and the GTS 250 is even slightly better than the HD 4850. They are about the same. You should go for GTS 250 1GB though since it will give you better gaming performance at higher resolutions and memmory demanding games like GTA 4

Its a "allied" I got it about 4 years ago used it many hours a day
I figure its too old for this system thats why it causes it to shut down once i load far cry 2 even on the onboard video
They still sell the power supply online for 69.99

No, it's on par with a 9600GT.

I put the 500 watt thermaltake on
Its still crashing when i minimize a game like call of duty 2
or when I change the graphics during the game and it has to restart the game it just turns off
Right now I am running off the onboard video =(

I have no installed the gts 250 inside the system because i am running into problems just on the onboard video.
Like when i turn call of duty 2 on it runs for a few minutes and the program just turns off or the computer restarts or it just freezes as is.
