Help with making partitions in 1 TB HDD

The question is, how to partition a newly purchased HDD?

And, what's the ideal partitioning consists of:

I mean, how many partitions, how much should be the size of C Drive (OS containing partition), etc.

I would split it 50/50 even, but it's all down to personal preference.
