Ok, So I've got a D-Link router that goes from main internet, to a switch out to two computers.. I just recently stopped doing this. It goes to the switch and doesnt put out to the computer. but if you put the cord comming from the router out to the switch into a computer instead of the switch, the net works fine. I dont think its the Switch because it works for about 2 hours before it stops.. Its also worked fine for more than a full year now.

If possible I would definatly try a new switch. Just borrow one or buy one from a local store and if it doesn't work just return it. If removing it fixes the problem then that should be the first thing to focus on.
well I have a hard time beliving its the switch, because its worked until like 2 days ago, and it still lights up, and lets data pass through for about an hour or so..

Do you have internet for more than an hour when the router is directly plugged into the computer? If not you can then blame the router or modem (more likely the router).
Heres my current setup: Cable Modem>router>switch>computers
the router is not even 2 months old, I hope it isnt that. They're expensive. I also have the modem into the router into another computer. Meaning a computer is connected directly to the router..

Why do you have a switch if you have a router? Unless you have lots of computers that is.
Check you Router configuration. This is usually your gateway address, likely 192.168.1.1 or similar. There is usually an option for DHCP lease time. Make sure its set to 0 (or whatever the longest lease time option is).
Sounds like this is probably your problem.
Let me know if this fixes it.

We have it like this because we have a lot of lan parties, and we dont have cables long enough to reach from the router (in a different room) so we have the router to the switch to 2 rooms..
