I have a xfx 4850 1GB, on a jetway JH07 ultra motherboard (PCIe x16/x0 or x8/x8) powered by a OCZ 550 watt power supply (fatal1ty version,

I would like to do crossfire and i was wondering if it's possible to xfire a 4850 and a 4850x2

if so, do i need a new psu? will be a 125 watt cpu, 2 HDDs, 1 DVD, and 2 2 gig sticks of ram.

also, should i get the 1 gig or 2 gig version of the 4850x2?

and finally, does anyone know where you can find a 4850x2?
ive checked newegg, tigerdirect and amazon

another question:
i have another cheap 500 watt+ power supply. what would it take to run 2 power supplies? my case could not accommodate this so it is more out of curiosity.

More about : 4850x2 crossfire 4850

I would suggest another HD4850, as the HD4850X2 were a sapphire-only model and its nearly impossible to find it new nowadays, besides Tri-Fire scaling is not the best.

But if you do want to do it and find a used one for a good price, it is possible, get the 2GB version (Not sure if the 1GB even exists, but that will scale the cards to having only 512MB of VRAM each). A new PSU is definitely necessary, preferably a 850W, but the lowest requirement is a quality model with at least 650W on the 12v rail.

Finally, it is possible to do a dual PSU setup, you just need this
