Game/work PC build help

Hi all,
another one of these :/

Approximate Purchase Date: N/A

Budget Range: 800-1000 after rebates ( a little over would be acceptable for more performance).

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (alot) (my fun), Photography software: viewing/editing etc. (my business)

Parts Required: Case/PSU/MB/CPU/Mem/GPU/HDD/CD ((OS: win 7) no need to consider in build price)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:NewEgg. Combos..ohh, so many combos...

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: AMD prefered, Intel not out of the question at comparable price/performance.

Overclocking: not very knowlegable about OCing.

SLI or Crossfire: for the future (upgrade) or now, if price is right.

Monitor Resolution: atm 1600x900, I will upgrade that in the near future (not to be considered GPU buying-wise)( my future monitor will not be more than 27'' (or so) no big TV widescreen connections, I will want to run at the highest res prolly 1920 x 1080 - 1920 x 1200 ).

Additional Comments: No flashy cases or parts, this will be my workhorse..all business(well, play), yet it should get what I need done, cooling/performance: games (highest settings/fps possible): WoW, STO, new FF mmo, fps's, SF II, etc,. Business: graphics, CS5 etc. Lightroom, etc.
Thanks in advance.. There are just soo many nice combos (re: savings) these days, I get dizzy ( and worried) that I won't pick compatible combos in my price range.

^ Here are 2 setups - 1 based on Intel and another AMD
Both would offer similar gaming performance, but IMO Intel would offer better business performance w.r.t your requirements and also would cost more though...

    Intel -
    i5 760 + ASUS P7P55D-E Pro

    RAM -

    Graphicss card
    GTX 460

    AMD setup
    X4 955 + HD 5850
Or a more powerful graphics card - HD 5870

    Gigabyte 890GX + Corsair 4GB DDR3

    Rest common
    CASE + PSU
CM 690 Black + CM Silent PRO 700W

    SSD for boot-

    HDD - Data

    Total - Intel - ~$991 After rebates
AMD - ~$921 After rebates with HD 5850 | ~$981 After rebates with HD 5870...
  2. Thanks for the reply! I will look over everything when I get home from work tonight.
