Right, so i i looking at buying an ssd to hold Windows 7 on my PC because of the massive speed increases. The only issue that i am facing is that i don't know how to transfer windows 7 off my current HDD to the new SSD. Please note that i only have the OEM version where the OS can only be installed onto one PC. Thanks for and help you can give me with this:)

you could move any files off that HDD that you do not want on the new SSD, and then clone the HDD to the SSD.
clonezilla should do the trick. lots of SSD's also come with transfer hardware/software (check what's included in the package of different SSD's to see this)

Is there any way of having a clean install of windows if i only have the system builders version? That would be simpler than using copying software for me. Thanks for the responce though:)

+1 to this. The activation key is indeed locked to your motherboard and you will be able to do a clean install onto your SSD
