How much better is 470's in SLI compared to 460's in SLI?? is it worth the xtra $150

470s will be better... 'worth it' is relative. the 470s will consume alot more power and make more heat... so that alone is relative to waht PSU and what kind of case cooling you have.

In general... the 460SLI offers the best performance in the business... with up to 98% scaling. two 460s easily smoke a 480... so i'd say go with 460SLI

Asus GTX 470 for $290, and $270 after MIR.

The GTX 480 will never drop that far because it is the flagship card, like the 5870, and will hold a premium.
