Looking at a new build, will only be taking my optical drives and HDD(Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache)
This is what I've come up with so far, any comments or suggestions on changes that might be beneficial would be helpful.

Asus Rampage III Extreme Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard

EVGA GeForce GTX 470 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz (Bloomfield) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail

Corsair Dominator GT 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 16000C8 2000MHz Triple Channel Kit (CMT6GX3M3A2000C8)

Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe Sound Card

Corsair Hydro H70 High Performance CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1156/LGA1366/AM2/AM3)

Thanks

Corsair has been overpriced lately. You might find some Gskil, Geil or Mushkin cas7 for cheaper than that Dominator cas8.

That is a very expensive motherboard for only one graphics card. If you are not planning on putting at least 3 graphics card in your computer, you might consider saving some money and getting a cheaper ASUS, EVGA or Gigabyte motherboard. Something with SLI, two PCIE x16 slots (running at x16/x16) and USB3/SATA3, like the ASUS Sabretooth x58:

You should try onboard sound before wasting money on a sound card.

Great mobo .... Fantastic OC features

Consider the 950 ... Almost same price.

CAS 8 memory in that. System ? I'd go for the mushkin CAS 6 which is also low profile and won't interfere w/ CPU cooler

Megahalems beats H50 by 5C ... See roundup at benchmark reviews.com

Antec 1200 w/ CP-850 is enough for twin 470's

You probably don't need the sound card since your mobo already has an integrated one unless you are an audiophile and will be powering a sound system with the PC.

I see you are missing a case/psu unless you're gonna reuse your old one. Here's a suggestion on a full tower.

Antec Twelve Hundred Case + Antec CP-1000W PSU

Maybe a SSD for a main drive and use your existing one as storage.

Getting twin GTX 460 in SLI may be better unless you're planning to do that with the GTX 470 later on.

Other than that, it seems like you already know what you want although there may be some more cheaper options that are just as good as those top name brands you picked.
