SLI, CrossfireX ready

Hello, I was wondering if a graphics card says "Crossfire X ready" or "SLI ready" does your PC have to be crossfire X or SLI compatible.

Nope, it just means that in the future if you have a Crossfire or SLI capable motherboard and a sufficient power supply you can throw in another, but your motherboard does not need to be crossfire or SLI compatible for a single card.
