Monitor resolution changed with dif graphics card?

My monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050, and that's what I gamed and did other stuff with.

However, I just put in my new GTX 470, and according to windows the highest resolution for my monitor is 1280 x 1024? Why would this be? Driver thing?

It shows the 1280 x 1024 under Personalization -> Display Settings.

I'm on Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

  1. Didi you install the graphics driver for the card?
If you're using the VESA drivers, it would be limited at 1280*1024.
