What is the difference between R4 processor and the x86 family model

Hello, i have just brought my daughter the sims 3 on p.c,the game installs but does not play is my system adequate at x86 processor as apposed to R4 processor?

use your daughters pc to check this link, http://www.yougamers.com/gameometer/10213/ find Sims3 on it and it will tell you how your pc should cope,
also download Cpu-z or hardware monitor and post us some more indepth details on the system please, motherboard model, ram (amount,type and speed), cpu model etc
