When i plug in my toshiba hard drive the computer picks it up in computer manage

when i plug in my toshiba hard drive the computer picks it up in computer management under disk management, but i don't have the option to open the hard drive to view the content. the hard drive works perfectly on my laptop, but it doesnt seem to install the drivers on my pc.

I don't have a solution, just some questions and suggestions.

What operating systems do you have on your PC and laptop?
How many partition(s) do you have on the drive, and what file system type(s)? (Fat32? NTFS?)

Is it an option for you to make the drive empty (it's my understanding that it already contains data, since you could use it from the laptop), then delete all the partitions (in Disk Management) and create a new partition? Maybe you could do this on the PC for bonus points. :)
