I built a new rig about 2 weeks ago, with an AMD 1090t 6core in it. I ran PRIME95 on it for 24hrs and everything was stable, had no problems and the cpu never went about 102f.

About 3 days ago, the processor stopped giving me a temp reading. Then today the computer randomly shut down and when I started it back up, the BIOS screen showed "*5 cores unlocked*" instead of the 6 it should be. Now only 5 show up in task manager and coretemp.

What do I do?!?!?!

Thanks,

Bios was a good suggestion. Also make sure a core isn't shut down in the bios.

Also check to see if Windows set to limit the processor to 5 cores.

Can you provide more specific system details?

OS, motherboard, etc.

Also, where exactly is it saying 5 cores unlocked. Doesn't sound like a message an X6 would give.
