I've got a Motorola (Cingular) ST7897 that I use in the car with the
permanently-mounted Motorola hands-free car kit. Recently, I've noticed
that when I plug the phone into the cradle in the car, it shuts off.
When I disengage the phone and turn it back on, the LED at the top of
the phone is often yellow and the only way I can clear this is to
remove the battery.

It seems like this is a problem with the hands-free system and not the
phone, since the phone seems to work otherwise. Any experience with
problems like this?

No obvious dirt. I'll check the fuses--good idea!
