gigafast adapter trouble

i have had a gigafast wireless adapter (usb) for a few months and during the first month or two it worked perfectly. then one day i took it out to put in another usb object and 1 hr later put it in and it now doesnt work. my friend uses the same kind of adapter on his computer and can bring his computer to my house and it will work.

the adapter recognizes the network becuase it shows it under the "view avalible wireless networks" tab, but when i go to connect, it wont connect. under the conection status tab it says xxxx send, but 0000 recieved. what is my problem here? is it the card causing the problem? what steps should i take to diagnose the problem? (i dont want to try it on my frinds computer fearing his comp may not connect nemore)

Have you tried different usb ports?
What device did you plug in before it stopped working?
Have you uninstalled/reinstalled all it's software?
If those do nothing I highly advise trying it in another computer. That will be the fastest way to see if it is faulty hardware or not.

yes i have tried different usb ports.
i plugged in a usb digital card reader before it stopped working
and yes i have uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers

id rather not do that just yet, and use that one on another computer as a last resort.

**Update** i tried putting the other usb adapter (same one as mine) and it did the same thing.

what should i try now?

Classic WEP conflict/issue.

i dont have any encription on it ive done that just to try to get it to work easier.
