I built my system back in 2008 and here are a few of the specs for reference:
eVGA 780i SLI FTW motherboard (nForce 780i chipset) and no AHCI support
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz (@ 4.05 GHz)
2x2gb Corsair Dominator PC8500
I was previously running 2 Western Digital Caviar Blue 160gb drives in RAID0 and Windows installed and ran fine for years.
I decided to upgrade hard drives, so I purchased 2 Intel 520 120gb SSDs to run in RAID0.
I went to the BIOS and created the RAID0 array with the two drives and everything went perfectly fine.
When I install Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, the install process appears to go fine until it gets to the phase where it restarts the computer for the first time. When the PC reboots, I get an error message saying "windows cannot start because a certain file or kernel or driver is missing". The weird thing is that the thing that is missing changes each time...it's not consistent.
The SSDs have the latest firmware. I am completely stumped and frustrated
