No communication between cpu & monitor

I have a e-machine t3626...no input to monitor...checked cable and monitor...can hear fan and hdd working..What could problem be?

try known good monitor,,,,ensure correct input is selected if multi-input monitor...

Beyond that, might be bad video card, bad PS, bad MB....
