HD 5750 not offering max resolution in Catalyst

Hello,
HD 5750 not offering max resolution in Catalyst Control - ie 1920 by 1080 - I am using an ASUS MS236H monitor. I do get 1080p as an advanced option but if I select it I get a black band around the edge of the monitor. The same occurs if I select 1920 by 1080 in the Native Windows screen resolution choices.
I am using a DVI(PC side) to HDMI cable

  1. Have you installed the monitor drivers?

ASUS has none on their websit.

Think it is uses Windows Generic PNP monitor drivers

  4. Thanks for that, I downloaded the file and installed the driver but still had the same problem.

However from this I found the following on the ATI website

    http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU72ResDoesNotMatchDesktop.aspx

It refers to "scaling" an its settings - which is the solution to my problem.
