oooh boy.....

i need some suggestions on a few aftermarket coolers i want to get.
currently i have an E8500 at stock (since my MSI mobo wont let my increase volts and i can only oc up to around 3.3 GHz, which is not worth it) and summer heat in australia is approaching QUICKLY!!! (last year temps were as high as 40-42C and almost killed my old E5400)
i use an Australian online store called: www.auspcmarket.com.au

im looking for an aftermarket cooler and some paste to replace the stock cooler and paste from Intel.
heres what i have chosen (i dont want to spend more than $105 AUS)
keep in mind prices in australia are a LOT higher than in the US.

COOLERS:

ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER 7 PRO $66
http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/info/AL-AC-FRZER-7PRO-REV...

COOLERMASTER HYPER 212+ $87
http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/info/REC-HYPER-212PLUS/10...

COOLERMASTER HYPER TX3 $44
http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/info/REC-RR-910-HTX3-GP/1...

PASTE:

either arctic cooler MX3 or MX4 (they both have the same price) $14.30
http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/info/AL-AC-MX-4/183/

any information or other suggestions from the site are welcome. (remember i dont want to spend other $105)

The Hyper 212+ is the best among those three, I think.

^+1 I don't think the paste will make more than a few Cs difference.

If they are your only options, the Hyper 212+ is the best. And yeah.. the difference between MX3 and MX4 paste will make hardly any difference if ANY difference. If they're the same price.. just get the MX4.

Id go for this - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/info/MIT-PT-MEGAHALEMS/12... and get a couple of decent fans.

They also do it with a fan attached just within your price limit - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/info/MIT-PT-MEGAHALEMS-BV...

It will work better with push pull fan setup even though it might just push you over your limit it'll be worth it.

This will help - http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_conten...

this cooler is pretty good, BUT its a bit to big for my case

Hyper 212 - 120 x 79.7 x 158.5 mm (L x W x H)

Mega - (L) 130mm x (W) 74mm x (H) 158.7mm

Not much in it and the Megas more than pretty good.

im not sure... my case is about 17 cm wide, so even if it does fit it will be cramped in my case
the TX3 is a lot smaller but im still not sure

okay...

out of all of these which one should i get:

ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER 7 PRO
COOLERMASTER HYPER 212+ (might not fit in case)
COOLERMASTER HYPER TX3
PROLIMATECH MEGAHALEMS REV 2 (might not fit in case)
SCYTHE KATANA3

All of these are in my price range and im getting the MX4 paste IF the cooler i get doesnt come with its own paste.

Not considering the ones that might not fit, I comes down to the Scythe Katana 3 and the CoolerMaster Hyper TX3, since the Arctic Cooling one does not perform as good as the other two. They're equally good, so go for the one which is cheaper.

Your right, i dont really need to buy the best cooler since i just want one that will keep the load temps down since summer is going to be over 40C in australia. I might get the TX3 since its really cheap and comes with MX2.

I could get the Katana3 and mx4 paste but will the temps be any lower?
dont see the point in paying $90 for it if i can get the TX3 which comes with MX2 for $44

EDIT: WOOPS! the arctic cooling comes with the MX2 paste not the TX3

damn, Ive been looking up reviews but i cant find any site that has tested BOTH the TX3 and the Katana 3, i cant decide which one to get if each review i find has a different computer/cpu tested...

EDIT: finally found a site which tested both HSF, its called rwlabs.com

PROLIMATECH MEGAHALEMS REV 2 would be the best cooler there. If it does fit, get that one.

well i checked the reviews, seems the TX3 is better than the Katana 3 at performance and you can add a second fan to it for a push/pull cooling.
only con is that its louder than a stock HSF at load, but i dont care, its a HELL of a lot cheaper.
thanks everyone.
