Kingston HyperX RAM is fine, as are Corsair, and GSkill, and some other brands. They all perform pretty much the same, with varying specs telling you the whole story. Two brands with the same specs will perform identically - if both are 1600MHz 9-9-9-27, then they will run the same. If one is 1600MHz 8-8-8-24, it will run very slightly faster. If another is 2000MHz, it will run a little faster.
RAM performance makes a tiny difference to the speed of your system. Tweak out the rest of the system before worrying about your RAM. Don't spend a huge amount on exotic RAM; paying double the price to get 2166MHz RAM is not a good deal.
RAM heat spreaders are NOT necessary. RAM just doesn't get hot enough to justify it. They look cool, which is why manufacturers put them on, and they don't do any harm, but don't pay extra to get RAM with the fanciest heat spreaders.
