I am wondering how you have your 10D set up in order to get the best
pictures when you are just after snapshots. Do you have them set at
factory default or is there some particular setting you modified and
why so.

I really haven't done much picture taking with custom white balance or
shifts in color set up in the camera different from the camera
defaults.
Depending on the lighting I do a lot of changing of the cameras
metering mode, and I also use shutter priority, and aperture priority a
lot outdoors when shooting wildlife. I also use exposure compensation a
lot when shooting birds.
As far as when I'm just taking snapshots of the grandkids I basically
just set the camera either in AV or TV depending on how much action is
taking place and shoot away. Indoors with a flash I set the camera on P
and shoot away.
I would also be interested to hear from people setting up custom white
balance or color adjustments to enhance their pictures in the camera
instead of in Photoshop.
