Unsupported proc and memory on P5VD2-VM SE?

hi
i want to upgrade the proc and memory on P5VD2-VM SE
i want to put e7200 and 800mhz ddr2 on it
problem is it can take maximum 667mhz ddr2 and e6700

what happens if i put them on it? will they work without problems?

Typically modern hardware 'whitelists' what processors it supports in the BIOS... Pin compatible processor slots should in theory work, but may not due to lack of support by the BIOS.

With regards to ram, typically memory from the same family can be driven at a lower speed without issue... Don't try to use DDR3 memory in a DDR2 slot though... it won't fit.

I suggest that you read the comments at http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/P5VD2-VM_SE.html. The CPU might work, but most likely not at full speed.
