Hi all,

I am having trouble getting my new build to be stable. It freezes randomly, and also blue screens.

Parts:
Asus P7P55D-E LX
i5 760
Gskill F3-12800CL7D 4Gb
Win 7 64 bit
GTX 470 video card

I think it may have something to do with the memory settings. Below is what CPU ID comes up with. The GSkill website shows that I should use CL 7-8-7-24-2N 1.6 Volts. The default values that the ASUS motherboard set-up are CL 9-9-9-24 1.50 volts. I have tried both and the result is the same, random lock-ups and very unstable. Altough it does boot to Windows with just enough time to run CPU-ID.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you resolve your issue?

I also have the same CPU/Motherboad set with you.

But they are pretty stable for at least 8 months.

However recently, my WinXP SP2 has caused more and more random freeze.

Even I switch to my Win7 64-bit Ultimate. The SAME thing happens!

When freezing, screen freezes, mouse pointer locks and NumLock cannot be toggled.

I don't know which part of the hardware is problematic.

A mate of mine is having the same problems after updating sp1 for W7 64bit. Apparently its an issue with the ASUS motherboard P7P55D-E LX and W7 64bit sp1. Last I heard was Microsoft blamed ASUS and vice versa. Therefore the issue is still unresolved!!?? I'm looking into it for him now.
