The Silverstone(better quality then Thermaltake imo) would be the best value if you can't budget for a $60 case.

For a monitor i would seriously peruse Dell.ca everyday for the UltraSharp U2311H 23-inch i've seen it for $180 on sale more then once.
It's stand is fully adjustable,3yr warranty,free shipping.
It's an IPS panel and has DisplayPort and usb ports.
