Most inexpensive card to play SCII maxed out!?

Just curious what kind of card I could get away with for SCII with everything on ultra @ 60fps. I don't want to skimp out or settle for a cheap card that won't do the job, but I just want to know what is the absolute most inexpensive card to allow everything to be maxed out. Thanks for any opinions.

  1. Depends on the CPU, with an i7-9XX, an GTX460 would do the trick.
  2. What resolution will you be playing at and do you have the CPU power to back it up?

My 512MB 4850 does pretty good on ultra at 1920x1080 but does stutter once in a while so you want something stronger than a 4850.

Whats your budget for a graphics card?
  3. not really concerned about budget, I'm simply curious at a res of 1920 x 1080, what is the cheapest card that will actually display everything on ultra settings. I have an i5 750 btw @ 3.6ghz.

    Performance without FSAA

If you want AA, the 460 looks good to me.
Otherwise, you might be able to get 60fps with a 5770 with your lower res of 1080p vs the 1900x1200.
Also, note that they used an i7-975 @ 3.75 ghz.
  6. Price/Performance wise the 5870 is the all around winner in terms of the settings you'd like to play. It just so happens to also be a winner in most other titles out there with the same requirements and for the same reasons (and will cost you less on your power bill by a noticeable amount too).

You might also be interested in getting two GTX 460s in SLI for around the same price as a GTX 480.
  7. I am sorry guys but reall to play SC2 at ultra a 100$ 4850 would suffice.
