hello....

i had a 8800 gt in my mobo and recently i've downloaded msi afterburner 2.0 beta and i tried the msi kombustor at a resolution of 1280 x 1024 with no AA...

i saw the temp rise from 55 degrees to 80 degrees with the fan itself running at 100%....

my question is... is my 8800gt running too hot??

by the way... i'm using the gigabyte nx88t512hp model....

any idea please??

Yup it's fine, the 8800gt ran a notable bit hotter then the other 8800 series. Still, keep an eye on the temps. If you start getting lockups, black screens, ar your temps start to approach 100c then best to clean it good before it fries.

If you want to try improving temps, check to see if there is any dust build up inside the gpu heat sink. With the computer off you can try spraying a can of air in there to try shoot some of it out. You may have to pop the plastic shroud off to get in there best.

80c at load is fine for that card... I get 85c with my 9800GT which are basically the same card...

Clean the dust from the card's heatsink and you can also put a case fan near it which will directly blow air towards the card(This will surely help...)

But I would say these temps are fine as my card is being heavily used and running fine for 1+ year...
