Hi, i am looking into making my own pc using the case coolermaster silencio 650, i saw on a youtube video that it has a tool that allows you to put smaller hard drives into it and i was wondering if i used this tool used with my sony vaio VPCEB3J1E hard drive if would it fit into the new computer?

youtube link to the video:

Also if it does work when i install a bigger hard drive at a later date would i be able to transfer windows 7 and all my data from my old hard drive to my new one?

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums,
The VAIO uses a 2 1/2" drive which will fit the hotswap bay adapter. Just ensure you are set up in BIOS for hotswap on that drive (it helps to have a drive in the hotswap bay to identify which setting is for what drive). I was using an old laptop HDD in my hotswap bay for a while with no issues.
Hope it helps
edit to add: Yes, you should be able to transfer the operating system over to another hard drive within that machine at a later date
