I purchased a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD and installed from scratch Win8 Pro.
Runs like a charm and boy is it fast. From power down to the desktop I'm looking at roughly just under 10 seconds.
However I came across an issue via the included Samsung Magician Software.
When selecting Performance Optimization it completes successfully however with errors.
When reviewing the error log, here you will find a number of errors:
SAMSUNG SSD MAGICIAN STARTED***********************
04012013/19:26:34:398: ERROR OPTIMIZATION COptInterface::TriggerOpt::3 LBA_RANGE_EXCEPTION encountered on Disk S12RNEACB41157M with Error Code: 5
Should I be concerned here or is this simply application specific?
I ask as my good trusty friend *Google* did not provide any ideas.
As a side note, the default setting for all drives is AHCI.
Benchmarks are astonishing though!
EDIT#1: Seems like there are others out there that have encountered similar issues however with no resolution. I'm beginning to think that it could be application specific and compatibility issues with Win8.
