AMD Phenom II X4 965BE + 2x 460 GTX SC + M4n98TD EVO

I have a new rig with:

AMD Phenom II X4 965BE (with Artic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 Cooler)
2x EVO 460 GTX SC (in SLI)
M4n98TD EVO
Coolmaster COSMOS S Case
3 Hard Drives

I run three 24" WS monitors (1920 x 1080) using Nvidia Surround to give me a large desktop. When I run Prime95 and Furmark together I get the following temps (at about 40 minutes in)

Large Image

CPU peaks at 70 degress (when I run just Prime95 it peaks at 61 degrees so I guess the heat from the GFX cards is upping it). Cards are peaking at 83 degrees and 72 degrees (the higher temp on the one connected to two monitors).

Ambient temp is about 23/24 degrees

Idle I get CPU 40/41 degrees, GPU 38 and 35 degrees. Motherboard temp idle is 32 degrees and 42 degrees at max load (prime95 + furmark).

Are these temps ok under this kind of stress on air cooling with this Ambient temp?

Cheers CHarlie

The temps are fine. Which software did you use to get the temps? Also... is the cable management properly done inside you cabinet.

Cable management is ok (I could do better around the harddrives and the front fan on the case). Will have a look. To measure the temps I had CPUID, SpeedFan and CoreTemp all running (overkill I know). All reported the same temps.

I would not be happy with those temps and would recommend a better CPU cooler.

I have the Arctic Freeze Pro 7 Rev 2.0 but I didn't realise when I bought it that the intake pointed to the graphics cards rather than the front of the case (where the cooler air is!). I could turn it 180 and mount it but that would totally screw up the airflow in the case.

I'm convinced I'm only hitting 70 degrees because it's taking in hot air from the cards.

Any suggestions for a new cooler?
