Problems connecting graphic card to psu

Hello,
I bought parts for a new PC and im all done except for the graphic card...
the graphic card is a sapphire ati hd4870 toxic edition and it requires 2 6pin connectors in order to work. My psu has 1 6pin connector, but there is an additional 6 pin cable in the graphic card container..

Now i plugged it in and the other end of this cable seems to be a SATA cable with 3 pins(little metal sticks) and the one from my PSU have 4 little metal sticks. i tried connecting them but it gives me an error message when i start up..
help please?

my bad* it is called a peripheral connector not a sata cable(the one with the 4 pins)

Get a 4-pin molex to 6-pin PCIe adapter.

What error message does it give you when you try to boot?
