I have 2 470's and the bottom one is a MSI twin Frozr II and right under that I have a 8400 that I am running physx on. Well the MSI card hasn't ever set perfectly straight and had a slight lag to it. I was playing today and apparently it was still settling a bit and the back corner of my 8400 caught the back fan on the MSI and took it out. Everything is still running ok temp wise with the card but I can't seem to find anything on MSI's site to get it repaired or possibly just order a new fan. Anyone have any ideas? I guess if I can't fix it and the temps are ok I will keep it going but I would really like to fix it. Worst case in 6 months I will pick up a 5970 or another 470 if it doesn't last.
K so started looking for the fan replacement here is the info. It is a Power Logic DC 12v 4 pin brushless fan Model PLD08010S12HH. I will contact Power Logic but maybe some one out there knows a site i could order a similar one? The back screws on with a 3 hole pattern with the tabs spaced equally.
So I haven't heard back from power logic I have sent multiple emails but still nothing. I also called MSI and they told me that they can't send me a new fan I would have to send them my card to get it repaired, and it was gonna cost me around 50$ plus shipping. Thats not really an option for me so does anyone else know were I could get a new fan?
I have had it a month and I bought it from newegg and they are 12v dish fans that are 80mm x 10mm. Also they use a 4 pin connector and I think that might be a pwm fan? Not sure about that. Right now I have a 80mm case fan super glued to the card and plugged to my mobo. If nothing else that seem to be working awesome. Here is a pick of what the fan looks like
